The brand new Bavarian style bar, Albert’s Schenke, held its Bier Festival launch party on Thursday 25thJuly and welcomed guests into its wunderbar venue.
The Bier-Halle and Cook Haus, which offers an exuberant and authentic atmosphere, is situated on the corner of Hanover Street. From the creators of Albert’s Schloss in Manchester, step into the Schenke (Tavern) for a unique experience inspired by a Bavarian fayre.
With an extensive range of biers on tap from Bavaria and Bohemia, to local craft beers from Liverpool, guests can choose their pint, take a tour of the taps, or sip by the schooner. Albert’s Schenke offers biers curated by their on-site bier maestros, with over 20 bier taps you’ll be spoilt for choice! Try Pilsner Urquell’s tank beer to taste the freshest golden larger possible. Brewed especially for Tankovna bars, the unpasteurised beer is stored in temperature controlled tanks to guarantee the perfect pint.
Albert’s Watermelon Spritzes and Pineapple Daiquiris will certainly get you piste, but if that doesn’t tickle your fancy they also offer classic G&T’s, as well as Pornstar and Espresso Martinis. To tie in with the Bavarian theme order a round of shots served in an original wooden ski. Sample the various flavours of Haus schnapps, including flavours of sweet strawberry and warm butterscotch.
Inspired by trips to Alpine Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland the Cook Haus provides rustic and simple dishes that will take you on a journey throughout the Alps!
The menu includes the Raclette Burger with melting Swiss Cheese and the Black Forest Ham, Egg & Chips. There are rugged and rustic dishes such as Sformato (a baked truffled mashed potato with melting nuggets of alpine cheese) to Bavarian classics such as Schweinshaxe, and Haus kebabs.Choose from Chicken Schnitzel, Vegetarian Mushroom Spätzle or create your own Smorgasbord with Bohemian sausages, Fish Frites and Truffle & Parmesan fries. Succumb to your sweet tooth and enjoy a traditional apple strudel or an indulgent chocolate brownie.
Entertainment at the launch came from vocalist Lucie Meiselle, accompanied by the wonderful pianist Liviu Gheorghe. The duo put a contemporary spin on classic hits, current chart music, and other genres which was music to everyone’s ears. A ring toss competition was a highlight of the evening, as guests tried to throw pretzels onto a wooden pole to win a round of schnapps, served by waitresses in traditional Oktoberfest attire. Original live entertainment can be found in Albert’s Schenke on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
