Our thoughts on Mowgli Street Food’s Christmas menu offers

“Mowgli Street Food’s Christmas menu offers a unique take on Indian street food, incorporating festive elements into traditional dishes. The festive menu offers a choice of either a glass of prosecco of a bottle of beer to accompany the meal. Our experience started with a glass of prosecco, a light and enjoyable touch to begin the evening. The service throughout the meal was excellent, with attentive staff ensuring we had everything we needed and making the dining experience feel welcoming and effortless.

We began with the Yoghurt Chat Bombs, which were crispy shells filled with tangy yoghurt and spiced chutneys. The combination of textures – from the crunchy shell to the smooth yoghurt – provided a satisfying start to the meal, with the chutneys offering a mild spice that balanced the dish well.

Next came the Street Chat and Street Meats, starting with the Fenugreek Kissed Fries, which were golden, crispy, and seasoned with a subtle fenugreek flavour. The unique seasoning made these fries stand out, offering a herby twist on a classic snack that complemented the other dishes. The Himalayan Cheese Toast was a comforting choice, with toasted bread generously filled with melted cheese and lightly spiced. The richness of the cheese paired nicely with the spiced bread, creating a satisfying and indulgent dish.

For our choice of mains, we opted for the Office Workers Tiffin and the Indian School Tiffin as a chance to sample both a meat based and a vegetarian dish from the selection. The Office Worker’s Tiffin was a well-seasoned and hearty green chicken curry – a substantial and satisfying dish. The Indian School Tiffin, in contrast, was simpler, featuring spiced potatoes and chickpeas that delivered a comforting and flavourful experience.

To finish, we had the Mowgli Chocolate Brownie for dessert. This rich and dense brownie was deeply chocolatey, with a balance of sweetness and cocoa that made for a satisfying end to the meal.

The cost of the menu was £35 per person, which offered good value for the variety and quality of the dishes provided. The ambience of the restaurant was also excellent – the warm lighting and vibrant decor created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, making it a perfect setting for a festive meal.

Overall, Mowgli Street Food’s Christmas menu offers a well-curated selection of flavourful dishes, great service, and a welcoming environment. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking to enjoy Indian street food with a festive twist, all at a reasonable price.”
