Ankit Singh – Millionaire polymath of 21st century

History has been graced by some bonafide geniuses over the years. Leonardo Da Vinci, Kuo, Leibniz are some of the few you have heard of. However, there are a few who have been more elusive than others. Ankit Singh is a Race Car driver and entrepreneur from India who is also the North American Grand Prix Champion of 2016. I had the privilege of interviewing him and discuss his ideas and philosophy.

“I am a nobody and I am just amazed and humbled that you want to interview me.” said the guy who I have been trying to reach for more than two weeks. I laughed and continued “Sir, I think I will quote you on that” and I asked him what does he do. To which, he replied “I’m a graduate student studying Computer Science here in the US.”

We got to talking and I asked him about the tech he recently sold to a company in California. He said “That was a protein folding IoT device that uses Artificial Intelligence to find complex protein structures”. This technology is unique and silicon valley giants have been gunning to find a expeditious solution to protein folding. Singh pocketed a cool $15 million off this deal.
Upon questioning about the deal, Singh denied to comment on the details so I asked him about the new technology he just finished working on. He has created a device that smart home users can use to fortify their security and control. A Brain Computer Interface that enables users to control machines with nothing but their thoughts.

“I think this will help people who have difficulty moving or speaking to have a better control of their environment.” Surprised to learn that this is even possible, I asked him “What steered you towards this idea? Is there a backstory? Are you looking to sell this technology aswell?” and with a neutral tone I heard his reply “I was bored and no, there is no backstory. Contrary to what some people think, I don’t have a sob story to tell and I won’t sell this to anyone and I might make this open source someday so even the common people can use this without having to pay a premium. I want to help as many people as I can.”

Mr. Singh has a sense of humour & his replies are more eccentric than typical. I applaud his efforts for making tech available to masses. His new tech works on the principle of electroencephalography which is a branch of neuroscience.

He has worked with Stanford University in the past and is also a published author. By the age of 16, he was a national scholar in his country and designed his own robot. When Singh moved to US, he became the first Indian to win a state championship of Chess and a Grand Prix. He is a competitive sniper and was awarded gold medal for it. A genius with a IQ of 142, Singh has many international accolades under his name. At the tender age of 22, he donated half a million dollars towards educating underprivileged children. He is a philosopher and a true polymath of this century with a vision to make this world a better place.
